Men in Wax Jackets, the stunning debut album from Roy’s Iron DNA, is the future of independent music.
Described by The New Musical Express as “classy trip-hop at its darkest”, the band are busy making an indelible mark on the independent scene.

With the much-publicised demise of the recorded music industry, the band are concentrating on touring and selling music on the Internet, while the actual CDs are set to become much sought-after collectors’ items.
The hugely talented five-piece, who hail from Edinburgh, Dundee and Berwick-upon-Tweed, have been championed by Record Collector for their unique approach, shifting records all over Europe, avoiding Asda and selling from small shops to open minds.

Roy’s Iron DNA, an anagram of lead singer Ian Thompson’s previous band Ordinaryson, are described by Is This Music as “a rougher slightly threatening Beta Band - heavy on the beats, strong on the air of mystery”.

RIDNA’s two singles to date, a limited edition clear 7" vinyl double A side of Men in Wax Jackets/Reason and a download-only single, Silent Majority, have both received considerable airplay on BBC Radio.
In June, the band were XFM Scotland’s exposure showcase act, with DJ Jim Gellatly playing tracks from the album twice nightly for a week.
The Daily Record also waxes lyrical about the debut single, saying it’s “music for toasting yourself after a heavy night in Ibiza. Great with headphones, it lifts you off and gently deposits you in a bed filled with soothing aftersun”.
